EXPLANATION:

An "Ordination Service" is an experience through which the CHURCH and those being ordained are CHALLENGED to a more purposeful life in the service of Jesus Christ.  However, it DOES NOT make the ones being ordained better people, or give some mystical power or authority.

Setting people apart for special service, by the LAYING ON OF HANDS, goes back to the Old Testament. It occurred in consecration of the Levites (Num. 8:10)
This ceremony in no way imparted any special authority or power.  Rather, it emphasized that these men were dedicated to God's service.  God's choice of Joshua was confirmed when Moses "laid his hands upon him; and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses"
(Deut. 34:9)

WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF ORDAINING DEACONS ?

IT IS A TIME OF DEDICATION:
IT IS A TIME OF WITNESS:
IT IS A TIME OF WORSHIP:
IT IS A TIME OF COMMITMENT:
IT IS A TIME OF FELLOWSHIP:
The experience of this moment will forever be in the candidate(s) mind ... the memory of the touch of the hands and whispered prayers of these "Fellow Ordained" will humble their thoughts for years to come.
The candidate(S) is being set apart for service, but, more importantly, he is accepting the ordination and the commitment it carries.

Acts 13:2-3
{2} As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said,
Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
{3} And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid <their> hands on them,
they sent <them> away.

John 1:6
There was a man sent from God, whose name <was> John.

SUCH A MAN (MEN), WE PRESENT FOR ORDINATION
